Advanced Company War
Background
Sometime ago I began what is currently my longest running game (re)design project. I had just played GDW's Triplanetary for the first time, and I had decided to use Triplanetary as the basis for a tactical module for Mayfair's The Company War. In no time at all, though, I decided to make some minor revisions to The Company War as well, both to help it integrate better with my project, and to taske advantage of the new information that C.J. Cherryh had added to the universe in the preceeding ten years.Now, six years later, I still haven't written the tactical module based on Triplanetary, but I have rewritten The Company War. After some searching, I discovered that the rights to the game belong to one of the game's original designers, Bill Fawcett. Mr. Fawcett has graciously allowed me to distribute the alternate rules, provided that they are "not labelled as authorized" and as long as I "acknowledge all of the copyrights as given in the original rules." So, please ovbserve the following:
- These rules are not authorized;
- Please see below, and in the downloaded ruleset, for the original copyright notices.
- As of 1/1/98, these rules have not been playtested.
